Construction Cleaning

The final clean after the contractors leave: drywall dust out of carpets and grout, fixtures, cabinetry, glass and high ledges detailed.

What is left after the last inspection?

The inspector signs off, the trades pack their tools and leave, and the building looks finished from the doorway. Walk in and it is not. Drywall dust sits on every horizontal surface, stickers are still on the glass, and the cabinets have fingerprints and sawdust in the drawers.

Cal-State picks up at that point. The list covers appliances, baseboards and crown molding, cabinetry and drawers inside and out, lights and fixtures including chandeliers, blinds, fireplaces and water features, plus kitchen and bathroom disinfection and marks wiped off walls. Whether the job is a small boutique shop or a complex with several units, the scope is written to the building.

Getting drywall dust out of floors and glass

The crew works top down so nothing falls on a surface that is already clean: high dusting first, then lights, ledges and blinds, then walls, then the floor last. Fine drywall powder grinds into carpet pile and settles in grout lines, and a pass with a household vacuum only moves it around. Carpet cleaners, stripping machines, buffers and grout and tile machines pull it out of the floor, and hard surfaces get the finish that suits the material.

Windows get their own pass, inside and out, at high, mid and low levels. The crew brings lifts and extension tools to reach upper panes, sills and casings, and cleans new blinds and curtains that took a coat of dust while the walls were being finished. Outside, the work extends to parking lot cleanups, and recycling and waste are collected and hauled off rather than left for the contractor.

Scheduling the clean around your handover date

A late clean is a late opening. Cal-State schedules around the date you are handing over the keys, and crews are bonded, insured and safety trained so they can work on a site that is still being finished. Tell the estimator which trades are still on site and which rooms are staying closed.

The estimate is free and written, and it covers supplies, labor, equipment and chemicals. Call (650) 458-1212 to set up a walkthrough of your Belmont site, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Free on-site estimate in writing, with supplies, labor, equipment and chemicals included.
